The reason you pour your blood, sweat, tears and heart into a blog post is so that someone will read it! Someone will get value from your perspective and your life.
Not getting enough readers for your blog articles is disappointing to say the least.
Plus, if you are trying to make an income from your website, a loss of views is a loss of money.
Not knowing what to write about to reel in your audience can create a serious blog-roadblock.
And spending time writing blog posts that go unread and fail to increase site traffic can be especially frustrating.
Here are some writing tips that give you a few ways to get more views on your blog posts and can help you to grow your online following.
1. Select a Relevant Topic
Answer the public is a great tool for topic research. Input a keyword or phrase and it will tell you what types of questions related to that topic people are asking. You can choose a topic based on specific questions your audience is searching for or pain points they want solved.
Google has a keyword planner tool that is also helpful to find relevant keywords and recent search trends to examine. Consider new and unique angles for topics discussed in your niche.

2. Find a Problem to Solve
Want to become an authority in your niche? Solve a common problem faced by your target audience.
Try creating a list of five to ten issues that plague your audience and find different ways to tackle them. Use examples and toss in any social proof that you can find to help demonstrate the effectiveness of your solutions.
Helping people solve their problems is one of the best ways to get more views on your blog posts!
3. Be Like J.K. Rowling
Become a storyteller to engage your audience. Stories offer a great way to connect with people. Show people that there are other people just like them in the world, with similar experiences and viewpoints.
This not only caters to their sense of humanity, but it can also help you reinforce your brand and mission.
4. Check Out the Competition
Keeping tabs on other business in your industry is always a great way to stay in-the-know with what’s going on in your niche. Take a peek at your competitor’s blogs, social media accounts, and recent advertising campaigns to find hot topics.

5. Craft Titles that Demand Attention
Boring titles and ones that aren’t specific can easily be glossed over. Use eye-catching headlines and curiosity-arousing claims to capture your reader’s attention. (Note: Get specific by using numbers such as “20 Ways To …” or “How This Study Tripled the Number of …”)
The catchier your blog titles are, the more click throughs you will get. And that could mean the more money you will make!

6. Keep it Casual
Blog readers aren’t expecting to read college dissertations when they’re on your site; they either want to get educated about a topic, or they want to be entertained.
One way to get more views on your blog posts is to try to keep your tone light and casual, making for an easy read.
7. Get Visual
Adults, like children, love amazing visuals and imagery. Use images with eye-catching colors and high-quality designs to help break up the text of your articles. The images will also serve as attention-grabbing hooks when it comes to sharing the article on your social media accounts.
8. Use Research
People love to have facts and figures that help to illustrate an argument. Check out industry white papers and other documented sources to add graphs and charts to help engage your readers and back up your writing.
Offering valuable content your readers are looking for can provide you with the traction you need to deepen engagement with your brand. Educate your audience with your articles, and you’ll find that growing an online following is merely a matter of giving people what they want.
