Plus, they have a new content topic cluster tool that is fantastic and will help you come up with blog topic ideas that rank. It helps you pick out topic clusters for your site to write about. Topic clusters can help the overall ranking of your blog in your niche.
In addition, there is a competitive research tool in the dashboard that is fantastic. It helps you identify keyword gaps between you and your competitor sites. Get started with SEMrush.

Grammarly is one of my favorite creative writing tools. This free writing app and site is super easy-to-use and will help you write content without errors. Grammarly basically tracks what you are writing as you write it, making suggestions on improvements and mistakes to fix.
It will show you mistakes by underlining the words with a red line that need to b fixed. Plus, it will tell you how to fix it! So easy. As I’m writing this blog post, it keeps showing me my mistakes so I can fix them right away!
You can also use Grammarly to check for plagiarism or duplicative content. It highlights the sentences that are plagiarized throughout the copy so you can fix it. Grammarly is one of the best content writing tools that is free.
You can easily install the browser extension or desktop app, and it will start working right away. You can also use Grammarly’s web editor to write and edit your documents directly within the app.
Google Search Console
Google Search Console is a free online tool that you should use to monitor your blog’s presence on Google.
It can help you get helpful insights on which keywords you can use to increase your site’s traffic. You can see how each blog post is performing and whether the quality is high enough to rank.
fF any of your posts have become de-indexed or there are problems with your site it will show. You will be able to see what content is ranking in Google and for what keywords.
You can then use this to guide what else you write, as well as how you edit existing posts. GSC is one of the best free content writing tools that also helps with seo.
Canva
Another great writing tool is actually a design tool! There is no other helpful tool than Canva that allows you to get customized images that you can use in your blog posts. You can make your blog more attractive and appealing by adding custom images.
Canva offers beautiful templates that are already designed. You just have to switch out the text!
There is a paid premium version that gives you a lot more features, like more fonts and you can create your brand colors. However, there is a ton you can do with the free version of Canva.
Use visually appealing images in your blog to enhance the overall quality of the content. You can even create infographics and social media posts and pins.
Creating content should always include a plan for imagery as well and using free design tools like Canva will ake that easier.
And make sure you are using an Image file size reducer like Imagify. Images are so large in file size they can slow down your site speed. Imagify will automatically compress your images and reduce the file size in order to speed of your website.
Bonus tip: When using Canva for your content, it’s important to optimize your blog post images for SEO by including descriptive image alt text.
When you put the image into your post, there will be a field on the far right to place the alt text in. This will help search engines understand what your images are about and improve your chances of ranking higher in search results.
Keysearch
Keysearch is not a free content writing tool, but it is very affordable at just $12 a month. It is one of the best seo content writing tools as it helps you find the right keywords before you even start writing!
The right keywords is how you get your post to show up higher in Google for searches, and bring readers to your blog.
You don’t want to be like me and realize after the fact that you wasted a lot of time and effort writing on the wrong blog topics!
Keysearch can help you easily do a keyword search to find out if something is too difficult to rank for. Or, if there is a similar keyphrase you could use. And, it has an easy to use interface.
