When is the last time you had a facial? I know, right now you are saying “I don’t have time for facials!” or “facials are way too expensive!”
But don’t neglect your skin! Or your me-time. It is possible to give yourself a luxurious facial at-home and on a budget.
Whether you are a college student with no extra funds, a brand new stay-at-home mom or a busy executive, you can still take care of yourself.
In fact, giving yourself an all-natural, at-home facial will save both time and money. Plus, an all natural facial means no heavy toxins.
Skin that looks and feels fresh and beautiful doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. DIY your spa day to save! For beauty on a budget, try these five DIY facials you can do at home.
1. DIY Facial for Oily Skin
If you have oily skin you typically have large pores where excess dirt gets trapped, resulting in blackheads and dull-looking skin.
To start, steam your face for ten minutes to help loosen and draw out some of the clogged dirt.
Cleanse your face using a gentle exfoliant. (For a natural exfoliant, see # 3 below). Pat dry.
Next, apply a charcoal mask purchased at the local drugstore or made yourself at home with the recipe below and leave on until it is completely dry.
When you peel it, off comes the dirt and blackheads clogging up your pores. Apply a toner, moisturizer and you are done.
For a home-made charcoal mask mix 1 tsp activated charcoal powder, 1 tsp bentonite clay, 1/2 tsp raw honey and 2 tsp water.
Apply to your face, avoiding the under-eye area, and rinse off after 10 minutes.

2. diy Facial for Dry Skin
To soothe your dry skin, give yourself a facial with a home-made avocado and honey mask.
To make the mask you will need one fully ripe avocado and one tablespoon of honey. Mash up the fruit, add the honey and stir until the combination is soft and creamy.
Next, apply it to your cleansed face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
Avocados are packed full of vitamins and minerals that your skin craves and both ingredients work as natural moisturizers.
3. diy Exfoliating Facial for All Skin Types
For an invigorating all-natural at-home facial, try a brown sugar scrub mask.
You will need two tablespoons of brown sugar and two tablespoons of virgin coconut oil.
Combine the ingredients in a small bowl and use the mixture to gently scrub away dead skin cells while massaging your face using circular, upward motions.
Rinse with warm water, tone and apply your favorite moisturizer.
4. diy Oatmeal Mask Facial for Redness
To reduce redness and inflammation, make a calming oatmeal mask. Combine two tablespoons of raw oats, one teaspoon of honey and half a banana into a mashed up paste.
Apply the mask evenly to the face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and apply moisturizer.
5. diy Milk Mask Facial for acne
For acne prone skin, this facial mask uses honey to prevent future breakouts, nutmeg as a gentle exfoliant, and milk to treat any present acne.
Combine two tablespoons of each ingredient and apply as a mask. Leave on for 15 minutes, rinse, tone and apply moisturizer.
Whichever facial you choose, just make sure you are making time for YOU!
